Stefano Pascolini, 1981
The work of the artist Stefano Pascolini is based on the observation and analysis of social, cultural and psychic connotations of the human behaviour in relation to the contemporary reality. The aim of his work is to develope ostensible parodies and digressions from the theme, unfolding sagas and mythopoiesi, facing and re-elaborating the elements considered collateral or unproductive by the present society.
The influence of theatrical language and the use of different medium like painting, sculpture, video and performance are both contaminated with ceramic, the main expressive form employed by the artist.
Ceramic, as an historicised art medium, has an aesthetic and social value that is archetypical and trans-historical and represents an ideal medium to overcome (in synesthetic ways) the horizon of contemporary facts and aspects and , accordingly, to start a profound self-analysis.
